Very exciting news, the new Assistant Editing for Reality TV class is now available for free on the Assist Bootcamp website!
The class, which is based on Avid Media Composer 2023.12, is now much more thorough and concise than ever before and at five hours total it’s only half as long!
While the class is geared toward those beginning their careers in editorial, there is a ton of information on the ins and outs of Avid Media Composer that even a seasoned editor may not be aware of.
In the past, we’ve done the class as a single video but we felt it made more sense to do separate videos for each topic so that viewers can skip topics they already feel comfortable with or share videos that they’d like friends to watch.
You can find all of the videos as part of the class page which now uses a YouTube playlist:
Assistant Editing for Reality Television
Or you can watch the videos individually, there are eight videos included in the class:
Why Begin Your Editorial Career as an Assistant Editor for Reality TV
Understanding the Media Composer Interface
Linking and Importing Media in Avid Media Composer
Ingesting Media in Avid Media Composer
Exporting Interviews for Transcription
Exporting Cuts in Avid Media Composer for Reality TV
Multigrouping in Avid Media Composer
We hope you enjoy this new class and new format, as this will be our class format going forward. We also plan to update our other classes over time but don’t have a solid timeline yet.
If you find these new classes or our past classes useful we would love to hear about it! Please let us know what classes you took and how they helped you.
